No matter where you live or work: We will pick you up with our motorboat! Our training area is the whole of Lake Zurich and, on request, also the Obersee. In the harbours of the various locations you can practise mooring and casting off and much more under the guidance of our experienced instructor. The whole lake is available for racy trips and man-overboard manoeuvres. You will quickly become a safe and confident motorboat driver.
We are based in Zurich-Enge on Mythenquai. However, we offer lessons from any location around Lake Zurich and will pick you up from your preferred spot, e.g. Zurich-Wollishofen, Zurich-Theatersteg, Riesbach, Tiefenbrunnen (other pick-up points available on request).
We recommend private lessons. Training in pairs is also available on request. You can choose your preferred course times when booking online. We offer training all day, including in the evenings, at weekends and during the winter. During the course, you will learn all the manoeuvres required for the test, such as parallel parking, man overboard, etc. Your instructor will ensure you receive thorough, targeted and comprehensive training. Depending on your prior knowledge and progress, experience shows that the course takes between 15 and 25 hours to reach exam readiness.
Our training ships are equipped with a sheltered cockpit and have heating. This ensures comfortable training at all times, even in wet or cold weather.
You will take the official examination for the Swiss A licence on your training ship. It is conducted by a cantonal examiner and lasts approximately one hour. Before the exam, you will complete a one-hour run-in so that you can go through the most important manoeuvres again and get used to the prevailing weather conditions.
You can prepare for the theoretical exam through self-study. You can use the documents recommended by the shipping authorities or learning software from various providers. We will be happy to help you prepare for the theory exam.
Although the motorboat examinations are held at cantonal level, you can still train on Lake Zurich. Simply contact us for further information.
